How would one go about marketing tee's to a young demographic, other than mass adding on myspace, because in my opinion that wouldn't be that effective? Do you have anything to suggest like viral marketing?
Have people wearing them. They say that word-of-mouth is the best kind of marketing. If you have genuinely good designs out and about you will get more business.
Besides that, you could try starting local by selling out of local stores or setting up your own mall kiosk or something small like that.
Besides that you could use just your own personal brand to spread your link around - i.e. Put the link on your facebook/myspace/aim profile/twitter and just everywhere you connect to others online.
FYI, youth shirts are a very populated market and I suggest that if you are steadfast about the idea that you start small and build brand strength locally instead of trying to spread thinly everywhere.
Find the prototype person you're trying to reach and pay him or her to wear your shirts. Ideally, this person would be somewhat famous on youtube already.
Also, if you have a very cute girl or guy friend then employee him or her to do a blog and youtube.
If you have a budget for it, go and look for famous (college) blog sites or forums and advertise your product there. Do lots of offline campaign as well. You can also try approaching a production designer of a popular teen TV series or something like it asn offer to provide them with some clothing to add to their wardrobe
