On average, how many design iteration do you have to do before the client "approves the design"? Take the poll.

I think I'm going for a record here. I'm on my 9th design iteration for this client.

A lot more than 10 for me if I am getting paid a a lot. If not the client better like what I design. You get what you pay for.

It depends on the project.

Generally for a web design I will offer 3 - 5 initial designs, then the client chooses which to progress with and which parts of the other designs they like, and then a new design is made bases on that and then usually one more iteration to finalise things. It's usually never that simple though!

I offer up to 3 included in the price and usually give them 2 choices, however I have done some as high as 4.

I usually give a maximum of 3 design options. It's better to understand the kind of design the client likes by asking him his favourite sites / logos or whatever design solution he is looking for. Understand his taste and likings and design something around it. By doing so, I have always succeeded in selling within 3 design options. Just create the WOW factor. Making lots of options may confuse the client.

  Old  How many design iterations

Aftre reading so many threads from so many varied companies, I was wondering how many of you - work alone.

Is a 1 person company the backbone of the business World, that I keep hearing and reading so much about - and essential to the economy?

I would be interested in your views.

I think 5 is about my average, but I occasionally run into a picky client who just doesn't know when to stop.
