Old  How do you choose your colours?

I'm going to be designing a few sites shortly, just wondered how everyone comes up with their colour schemes? Does anyone use a particular tool or rule for picking colours?

I'll either go to colourlovers or I'll find a picutre that inspires me...

heh, as i'm working in dreamweaver, i just put some random colours with the colour panel, and see what fits nice. it takes a pretty long time before you'll really get something, but when i get something then , it's usually pretty good.

I go with the color palette in PS. I quite like using complimentary colors, or near them, it usually give a nice 2 color scheme.

It depends on the theme ... I chose my colours according to the topics.

Yes, I don't just pick colors before they look "good", I choose them because they fit the layout, and the theme

I just type a random work in google, browse some websites i've never been to before, and see what I like. Once I have a base color i move to colorlovers and similar coilor pages.

I get my colour inspiration from experimenting, then throwing some colours into ColorImpact and Color Schemer to help work out the scheme.
