Old  Do you think we need more forums?

I was just wondering this because many other communitys have loads more forums for discussion than we currently do. I have always looked upon have large amounts of forums as a down point (make it seem like the community is inactive and small).

I have however noticed that quite a large perecentage of users on talkfreelance are not posting, so i am trying to figure out why. Is it because there are not enough discussion topics? Forums for computer games, hardware, freebies, link exchanges etc.

If you visit a forum like yaxay you will see they have loads of different areas for discussion (granted they are a much larger community) but they actually only have a handful of active users. What do you guys think about adding a few more forums for discussion? or sub-forums? Let me know your thoughts and ideas.

stay focused. we don't need any more. they should stay in relation to the sites plan. the reason they are not posting is because they may be refferal signups, who just cant be bothered after that. it will get going, give it time.

I agree with tarun. These forums need to get booming before you focus on something else.

We are developing a tutorials database as we speak. According to our lead developer it should be ready for the new year.

i like the sound of that, i have tutorials already written that i would submit, if your looking for submissions that is

as for the forums i think they are good as they are for now, like you said when small communities have lots of forums it makes the place look dead, once TF is booming then you should think about maybe adding a few more imo

Yep, i have been considering adding a webhosting forum under the business section. Webhosting is a part of the freelancers business imo, i also think that alot of new members with knowledge of the industry, business etc would join because of this and probably bring alot more to the community.

In my opinion, you should add a Programming Discussion under the Freelance Talk section. A big part of freelance is not only web design, but programming. So it would only make sense.
