How to increase site PageRank

I believe the page rank of a site must be taken into consideration in SEO. My problem is that I don't know how to increase my site's PR. How is that possible?

Pagerank is pretty much useless. I would just concentrate on increasing traffic.

I think content is important too, Put quality content on your site, then start build quality related backlinks for site..

my site had a poor page rank when searching my name. i then replaced my tagline with my name and pretty much shot to number 1 overnight. content is very important in my opinon.

as what I have always said get many good back links... when exchanging links target those websites that has high page rank and that relates to your site.

I agree. I suggest you to focus on building a traffic. PR is useless because it can be manipulated by others.
