  Old  Promotion Advice

Hello,
I need a little help , I opened my forum DollarFriend.com - Paid 2 Post Forum In the middle of November. I only have 1 advertiser besides the members and already have 400+ members. My question is this type of forum, which is basically a Forum For Everything, how do I decide on where to promote it?

Any advice would be nice? Thanks

Basically, anything that relates to something on your board. If it's a general board, go to places where people who would be interested go.

Like, for a computer site, it could be beneficial to advertise on web design pages, as they'll be interested in computing things.

All you gotta do is figure out what people on your forum are also interested in, and advertise on a site like that.

If that made any sense whatsoever, you're a clever person.

Are you looking for advertisers or more members?

I'm looking for members firstly. Active members. When that happens I will worry about advertisers. I have about 10 advertisers who have been with me since open. So not looking for those for about another month.

And to the first post,
Made alot of sense, thanks.

Ok, i would suggest signing up at this forum (if you haven't already) and including the link to your forum in your sig.

You can also advertise there.

Have you considered running a competition on your forum? Referals of the most active members or something? Also, consider putting money into google adwords (i hear it's a great way to get more members).

As for talkfreelance, i have mainly established it through word of mouth and alot of posting in forums etc. Your forum seems interesting though, i bet 10,000 impressions on a large forum such as neowin.com wouldn't do too bad.

Thanks,

Do you own Talk Freelance?

As for my site it gets 1000+ unique/day easily. My fear is that with very few posting members the other members get turned off. So I feel If I can get traffic in there at times when I have 10-20 members online, they will join and post and others will welcome them.

As for the contest I have a $10 Referral Contest going on right now, and always make random payouts!!!

If you own this site how much for advertising?

Yes, i do own talkfreelance. We charge $50 for 10,000 impressions

The traffic here is much the same, 1,000 uniques average per day with about 25,000 page views. We have 10+ users online nearly all the time.

We are still a very young community, i have only been in charge for 2 months.

Nice site I have to say. I still have a load of work to do to mine. But for the most part I think I need to start advertising a little more. I will definetly keep you in mind for advertising.
