Hi

We r planning to develop a range of tutorials CDs for c to more advanced programming languages like J2EE etc.

What I would like to know is should the cd be flash based or html based?

i have seen a lot of flash based tutorial cds. lot of flash but no material.
Should i concentrate on material more or on the flash?

I have already place some flash in the pages.
like you would normally see in a web site?

other than that should the cd be completely flash.

would that be a selling factor?

No it wouldn't be a selling factor at all. You're planning to develop a CD to inform and educate people in programming languages, you need to make it as accesible and userable as possible. HTML would be ideal, users can copy and paste code and view it without loading flash animations and unwanted effects.

You don't need anything flashy to sell this product, well written learning materials will sell itself. If the flash serves a purpose (which I can't see it does) then don't bother with it, for the sake of it.

Good luck with the venture, keep me updated.

I think that although flash would give it a lasting appeal, if it sacrifices content then forget it. I personally would rather buy a cd full of quality teachings over one with a "spiffy" presentation. On the other hand you dont want the cd too boring because boring isnt very inviting. So like you said include some flash on the pages. Eek i havent really been much help. Lol people like to call me captian obvious but whatever. Good luck with the product and be sure to let us know when it releases id be interested in possibly making a purchase.
