  Old  20 character rule

I find this so annoying, there have been a few times I would have replied to a thread but couldn't be bothered because it meant I had to make up something else...

I can see the idea behind this, but it's frustrating and will lower activity in the long run. Sometimes, replies don't need to be more than 20 characters.

To be honest with you, Im kind leaning on both sides of the issue, sometimes its good to keep short comments from serious discussions that could benefit the community (even thought some lengthy posts may not make sense also) and its bad on the other hand, if someone posted one of these fun *threads* that recieve the most posts you can hardly type anything else than lol or good joke for instance.

i think what they did was not wrong however they took the easiest approach in order to solve the matuarity of posts in this forum.

just my opinion there.

why couldnt you just edit your post? would make more sense instead of spamming for more posts.

i'm not upset about wasting time at all. i'm horrible for it.

i agree with your opion, i just like to believe people have the ability to decide when it's fun and when it isn't and keep short random distractions where they belong instead of rescriting it.

edit: jay, he's quoting me.

and i wasnt complaining . I agree with you on the point that people have to decide when its fun and when its not, at least it should be 100% obvious when its fun. I mean seriously, i have seen tons of threads here that the original poster spends so much time writing the whole thread adn all he gets is, I agree, or good post? Im not talking about the majority here but I've seen some. For me, this doesnt really bother me at all, but I also believe they took the easiest approach to make the forum a better place, like adding such rule.

Jjay, sorry about that your highness, can you kindly forgive me, sir? i dont mean to bother your majesty with such posts.

what did your post add to the discussion anyways?

I'd personally like to let members post whatever they want to say, however brief, by removing any minimum posting size. It is the moderators' jobs to weed out spam posts anyway, not the system and I see more 20+ character spam posts than under that figure. Just an observation.
