  Old  Business, is it Seasonal?

I've been sitting here for a while now, wondering how I can achieve a sturdy and regular flow of work and business, without having those annoying dry spots that us freelancers have. Then it hit me, maybe this industry is seasonal? Maybe there is no regular flow of work? Then I thought some more.

I was wondering what you thought about this, do you think it's seasonal, or do you think there are sure fire ways to maintain a regular flow of business and work from customers, all year round?

Since this business is driven by computers I definitely think there is a season (summer) where there's less work compared to other seasons.

But one could argue that with the constant upgrading and introduction of wireless technology (computers and internet anywhere) this shouldn't be the case?

Well at my point of view at the momment, customers normaly buy templates and works by freelancers when they have something they would like to do over the internet. This might be the reason of the increase and the decrease demand. The hypothesis of my explanation is that normaly people have much more time to work over the internet when they have freetime, which means holidays and summer. So in other words I am with the idea of Arjen.

I have to agree with the "seasons theory". For me, i tend to stay away from the computer during the summer. At christmas time i am more inclined to spend money on designs and websites etc.

Although i am sure if you search around enough you can find people who need work all year round.
