you fill in a form from your bank stating that you dont pay tax due to being a full time student under the age of 18.

I pay tax on my interest.

Heres the lowdown on me, im in the states. And from what it looks like im the only one in the states on this thread. Im 17 i worked at a local grocery store for a year (started at 16) i payed taxes of course. This year i filled my whatever form but the only income i did my taxes on was for my job at the grocery store. I quit that like 3 months ago almost, and now i work with my dad on weekends, and during the week after school and any other time i dedicate fully to my free-lance stuff. Unless i start making like 5000 dollers a month im not planning on filing taxes. At that point i would be making deposits large enough to make the IRS curious on where my money is coming from. They would prob call and be like DRUGS UR IN THE DRUG MARKET UR GOIN TO JAIL! So for me it all depends, im just gonna wait and see. Right now, no i do not pay taxes on it.
