  Old  LiquidSmoke.net Portfolio Redesign

Decided to redesign my portfolio, getting sorta bored of the current one.

Anyway I started on something, it's just barely done. I decided to go for more of a personal type theme rather than a clean/business type design.

Lemme know what you think so far. And yes I know logo text is hard to read sorta, I made it that way so it looks cool, didn't want just plain ol' font logo. And yes navigation font is also hard to read, but when you rollover the text it'll show the link in regular text (as seen on the portfolio link). The left side will probably be flash and the rest will be in HTML.

And I'm trying to decide if I should use green or blue for the color. The one here is green, I think it looks pretty good, blue look nice also, I'll post two color versions when I'm done with the design and decide from there.

He will make it flash so it like, decodes it to the portfolio font. I personally love the idea.

Yeah the left will be flash, the font will be that abstract font and when you rolloer it'll turn into the regular font.

And here's an update. I decided to stick with the green. There's two versions: one has the wood on the left and the paper texture on the right and the other is the other way around. Lemme know which you think is best. Also for the nav I have 3 diff Portfolio fonts, lemme know which of those 3 fonts looks best and which I should use. Thanks.

I think it looks great. Like you said its more personalized rather than business like which is a nice change from so many portfolios. I would say you should use green like you have in the preview, seems to be a better match for the wood pattern going on in the background (like leaves to a tree). I think it would look great if the right side was also done in flash and have say a slideshow of your work, etc.

EDIT: I like version one better, with the wood on the left.

ty, and yeah im leaning towards the first one cuz left looks better darker.

and i would do the right in flash but im not that experienced in flash, and slideshow would be ok but i think html would just be much easier to update and stuff. i will use the lightbox js script though for easy viewing.

Well executed, though I would recommend using a cleaner font for the navigation. Also, not sure if it's just me but the concept reminds me a bit of ISO50. Not nessecarily the style, but the foundation of the design. Hope that helps.
