I thought it was obvious I was joking. Of course an admin isn't going to make a rule simply to annoy people - the point I was trying to make is simply that it's a stupid rule and makes absolutely no sense.

We have to draw the line somewhere.

Why be awkward though , can't see any reason not to allow the additional 8px.

Before stating that the rule is 'silly' or it makes no sense, try to find out whats the reason for it.

I'll make a point on it, although I'm not saying this why the size limits are as they are it's just something for you to think about.

If we let everybody have a banner-ad in their sig wouldn't that sort of undermine the paid-advertising that we offer here? I'd say so, fair enough it's not going to appear on every page but we are an active community so the chances are it would be seen just as much.

Anyway the rule is there, deal with it. It's not a hard rule to follow and I know there are some people that have started to brake it again but don't worry they'll get seen to soon enough

If I'm honest I think most people are more inclined to click a text link then a banner ad in a sig anyway - I know graphics in sigs put ALOT of people off.

I put the motion forward to get images in signatures removed.

The images used in signatures never "add" to the forum, the use of signature images in this forum is to generally draw viewers away from the forum.

The only forums that utilise signature images to "add" to the forum are ones used in graphic communities.

Doesn't the new version of vBulletin allow the admin to limit sig sizes?
