Also, try joining some banner exchange programs with other hosting sites (non competitive of course). Then try some more high traffic forum advertising.

Also, try directory submission, and depending on the nature of your site, local print advertising.

Build backlinks to opt for SEO. Directories, blogs, forums, etc. are just venues where you could build them. Such backlinks will also draw you traffic overtime.
