  Old  CSS <tr> background image

I cannot get a background image to display in my table rows. Anyone no why?

I was trying something like,

It's not supported (in IE as far as I know). You might have to find a way to get around it (by putting it on the actual table background and position it, or on individual cells).

I've tried it on Safari and Firefox. No luck either. Does anything support it? Or is there another workaround?

yea, dont use ie, it really takes out from a lot of things
