Five posts is nothing, If your not willing to even give that back to the community then why would lower it?

Well as a scary statistic I would say that its there to stop the 1904 users who have 10 posts or less spamming us all..

I think most of the active members here get roughly 5 posts a day. Its not "Geeky, Nerdy" its just like a msn conversation and some of Us like to give help to others.

I have to admit, I'm no fan of the 5 post 'thingy'...

I don't have anything to 'give back', I'm really just looking to hire (I guess that's giving back?).

But I can't post my job request until I have 5 posts... oh well, this makes THREE.

If there was no 5 Post Rule, then there would just be loads of people signing up to make one post advertising all of their pyramid sites and such. It would basically degrade the offers and requests forums.

I'm not so sure about that...

My forum has over 30,000 registered members and only a VERY small problem with spammers. (Maybe one spammer every 2 months.)

None of the other forums I belong to that that rule, either.

That said, rules are rules, so I will abide (I don't have a choice )
