the fact that even after obliterating ff from my computer it still retains the problem is extremely bizarre.

I would actually go into the registry and delete records for Firefox.. though it would most likely fix your problems, there is a high chance of screwing something else up.

when i deleted firefox i used "your uninstaller" which is supposed to delete registry entries anyway, although i guess it missed something.

Main thing that turns me off editing the registry is the fact that ive never done it before
