  Old  Quick Problem

Why does my browser go back in history when I try to make the pound sign. (ALT + 156)

I've only noticed this happening on TFL.

Check the LOCK keys (Caps, Scroll, Num) and then try loading Firefox in Safemode, if it still happens, its a Firefox glitch, if not its an extension problem. Btw, this forum is for problems related to the Forum I think.

It technically is related to this forum as this is the only site it happens on.

Also, my lock keys are normal.

Just press Shift + 3? £££.

Or is it an American keyboard? If so set it to English because Shift + 4 = $

Access keys are set up to make it easier for people with disabilities or limited mouse usage to navigate with their keyboards. An access key is set up in this forum to navigate to the index page when you press ALT + 1. So whenever you try and type thye pound sign, when you start the code combination, you load the TFL home page first.

Hope that helps .

Maybe you didn't understand fully. This access key is in the HTML of TalkFreelance. Other forums might not have this access key set up, which is why ALT + 1 doesn't send you to their home page. It's not universial between all sites.
