Your first script?

Well you all know what my first script was! What was yours? I'm guessing alot of you probably started with the "hello world" tutorial, however i'm interested to know! Links to working scripts would be cool

Mine was a signature displaying my servers uptime etc.. its gone now though.

mine was a counter which displayed total hits and users online

How long have you been programming for?

My first coding was in C# on a Web Application. It was a 'Hello Microsoft, I love you' program. Basically you clicked the button - and it added a whole host of random phrases from a Database on the end of 'Hello Microsoft,'. One of which was 'I love you'. Another was 'Go and kill Linux'.

Very fun. Lol. That was all of... 6 months ago?

My first script was a pretty simple, you enter your name into the form, and basically if it was 'Tim' it outputted 'you are cool' else 'you suck'

It was a html file saved with a .php exstention. My first php sript was

<? echo "Hello World"; ?>

My first that anyone saw I guess was in Basic on a Sinclair Spectrum 48k (Yep a massive 48k of ram!). It was my schools only computer and I wrote:

10 print Mr Rogers is a Stupid *******;
20 goto 10

Stupid ******* was impressed too lol

Well my first actual "usefull" script was a news publisher. It used mySQL and basically you just typed in a title, author, and your news and it would post it. Very basic, but I was pretty proud of myself.
