You can also have a look at phpWCMS [www.phpwcms.de] - I find it extremely easy from the perspective of end user, while Joomla is quite difficult in my opinion.

What I like most about phpWcms is how a page is being built. You built each page by adding predefined modules - amazing.

I use SubDreamer CMS, and I hate it. Probably would go for Joomla.

  Old  I prefer Joomla

Both CMS are good. Personally I prefer Jooma for their mass availability of template - commercial and free

Joomla is quite...BIG is all I can say about it I have a UK developer buddy who uses exclusively Joomla and it gets the job done but sometimes it's just too much for what you may need it for. So don't box yourself in to just one CMS my tools of the trade are Joomla, Wordpress, and my own CMS for the more custom projects that the above two couldn't handle as elegantly.

So I guess in short if you need a site to do alot of things I'd go with Joomla, if you need a site where written content are going to prevail that Wordpress would be the better choice.

It all depends on what you'd want to do with it.

It really depends on what you want to do. I looked hard into Joomla for a recent project and then finally decided on Drupal because it appears to be better at some features that my client needed.

However, for most small projects, I've found that the easiest thing is to hack up WordPress. You'd be amazed what you can make it do! And the PHP is really straightforward and easy to edit (not to mention that it has a built in theme editor inside the admin interface that is really nice when you need to make a change from somebody else's computer).
