you can use the phpbb 3 beta but they don't suggest using it in a live enviroment because it's still in beta and there are or may be unseen security holes and all sorts of bugs still to be worked out before it is stable

Jeff I use to deal with phpbb all the time and I know first hand how bad the security is. If you dont feel like switching databases and such lemme know and I will show you some really good phpbb security plugins made by austin.

I would personally reccomend mybboards, ive used them on my forums www.wiiroom.net/forum/ and they are great, and easily customisable, Ill finish customising mine tommorow.
