From what I can gather, the definitions that are saved onto your computer for checking and matching for spyware is in a poorly secured file (making it easily editable by those who want to change it). And the program appears to be written generally quite badly.

SpyBot - Search & Destroy is much better anyway.

Spybot never catches anything for me... and adaware always catches 100's of virus's...

ad aware never finds anything for me, and spybot does just fine
i dont get many viruses/spyware though

Or you can just do what i do -- not check for it lol.
I am a careful PC user and question most things, so i tend not to have anything to that matter.

Haha yeah, I bought adaware and it doesn't seem to do anything, then I found spybot for free and it did the job!

I had Ad-Aware but i found that it just get's in the way really. And it's slugish, i agree it's poorly writen but Spybot SD is good and all but it tends to eat my resources up

I must say I like ad aware. it does what it has to do, and I'm not the type of person to let some hackers see some of me files.

Yes,i have no problems with it neether ...
it finds alot more hen other more expensive software.
it's fast, has updates and it's free
