apples to oranges here, python is a less powerfull, less used language. C's complexity is what gives it power, and wide use. C++ has more now however.

Is a can opener "less powerful" than a bottle opener? No, they just do different things. I would never try to write a compiler using python, just as I would never use C++ to write a website scraper.
