  Old  kurl - url shortener

hi guys,

It's finally done.

www.Kurl.us

It is just a verry simple url shortener.
add a link in the text field, and click "kurl it"

(i am still working on making the output url shorter, but that is the next update.)

There is still verry little traffic, but i am offering a advertising spot (468*60) on the bottom of every page, just for $5,- a month!

I hope you will use it, and spread the word.

Thanks.

It does the job, not much else needs to be said really. I'd like to suggest perhaps a rollover highlight for the top navigation links just so that the visitor can see exactly which link they're over -- it makes the navigation more tactile which is always a good thing.

With regards to the text on the homepage, there are few minor (but niggling for me) points; "Service" needn't have a capital letter, it's not a name for anyhting; I'd like to see "with" between "you a"; 'very' only has one letter r (this same error occurs throughout your site); you repeat yourself with the larger sized text and the small, centre-aligned instruction.

From a functional point of view, your aim is to provide URLs which are short. Why give http://www.kurl.us/out/593b07 when you could use http://kurl.us/593b07 (or even shorter, http://kurl.us/123).

Thanks salathe for your input!

I changed the spelling errors. didn't mention them.

Yes, that's correct, it's still pretty long, and i'm looking to get that solved. I bought the script this way, but i'll see if i can get i shorter, like you mentioned.

Thanks

I like the design, it's quite sleek For the placement of your main layout, it's a bit too low? Theres quite a bit of gap on the top area of your site.. (not sure if it's because of my resolution) but I would move the layout a bit higher.
