I have never really looked into Blogs, but since i joined this forum i have seen a have people creating Blog designs and posting links to articles they have written, and they are all very interesting reads. I'm going to ask a bit of a stupid question here but here goes:

Is a Blog basically a personal page, where you can write whatever you want; What you done today, your opinions on things which are happening arround you, anything really....

Do most of you create your own blogs - create them like a normal website and host them by yourself. Or do you use one of the many free blog sites that are arround.

I was thinking of getting one, not sure what i would write in it yet but still...

Most of us own our own ones, but there are free hosts which allow you to just get one instantly. But that will become something such as www.bloghello.com/wonderboysblog

If you get a good hosting account, including FANTASTICO you can get a wordpress installed for free.

Word Press, thats another thing i need to look into

A blog can be about anything you want it to be about. Basically it's like a online journal where you write new posts/articles and post them onto your blog.

If you have a domain and some webspace I would highly recommend downloading WordPress from http://wordpress.org

Its the software you use to create a blog.

Question - How to you get people to view your blog, i have seen a few peoples blogs and they have alot of articles and nearly all of them have comments.

Basically you just need to make sure your blog is interesting and then advertise it. Here's a quick article I wrote for new bloggers on how to find readers - it might help you a little
