Camera Wars!
OK not sure if this has been asked already, although it most likely has, but which companies cameras do you like better in a general state, Canon or Nikon. I'm Pretty sure it's all comes down to personal preference in the end as I have worked with both.
Also on another note -
I'm looking into getting a new camera and I'm definitely leaning more towards the Nikon route. Would anyone care to explain differences (in semi-layments terms) between the Nikon D40x and the D80.. besides the price tags.
Thanks!

Pretty interesting Rasberry, I am not going to argue with you but it's pretty interesting.
The only reason why I went for Nikon is becuase it has been the only camera I have used before I know that they are great and very reliable, so if I was to ever buy another one I would know they are a great make.. That's why I voted for it.
Rasberry, is it the same case with you or have you tried both and prefer the Canon?

This isn't a debate, Canon's ARE the better Camera's, especially when it comes to SLR's.

Becuase, if you look at who posted in the poll, Rasberry had voted for the Canon and me and someone else (can't remember) voted for the Nikon!

This poll is almost too general to provide any useful outcome. Asking which is the best camera manufacturer is like asking the same about cars. Aside from personal experience swaying a vote, there are too many models from the manufacturers to even begin to compare them fairly.
If the poll was "Which [camera type] manufacturer do you prefer?" that would've been easier for us to comment on and assess better. "Camera type" could be anything from 'disposable film' to 'consumer DSLR' to 'medium format'.
To at least provide something for this poll, I voted for Canon because they are my brand of choice for the cameras that I use most often. I've played with many brands of camera before but I always go back to the familiar feel of the Canons.

Owned Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Kodak. Overall, the canons are great quality, but id never trade my Olympus SLR for my 35mm Canon (both which are killer camera, with great features both. The quality on my Olympus and the features are amazing, but the traditional 35mm is just fun to use sometimes, and a good backup when my battery runs out.
