  Old  Quick Question

Hello all I'm a 20 year old who recently graduated with an degree in Digital Media & Web Design, but now I'm looking to expand my skills to programming due to the current job I have and I was wondering if anyone can recommend beginner books for the following:
Microsoft VB.Net
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 proficiency
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe

I have some knowledge of html and books on html and php so if I need to start reading those to grasp the knowledge of these please let me now unless there are books that will bring me into the world of coding based solely off the above programs.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
