Domain dot com?

Currently I notice that domain(dot)com is massively advertised. I just made a quick visit to the website; it seems to provide web solution services including domain registration, web hosting, VPS hosting, SSL certificates, even online marketing services.

I read that it started in 2000, but why is it just extensively promoted recently?

I am not sure about that. Maybe it was sold to new owner? The domain itself is very brandable so it must have been registered a long time ago. It is.

I am seeing the same with godaddy as well. There sites are popping up all over the web.

May be the companies are going flat out on a marketing spree.

Very brandable name, nice website. The domain registering prices are not so competitive though, those are around $10. I couldn't find any bonuses or discounts offered on the website.
