I think the forums are great as they are now. As tarun said, keep the forums focused on their initial purpose, and believe me, it helps

It's true that large communities lean towards the "larger forum number" but I think that is a factor that may put people off. Being too big may literally scare people of make them feel lost, not knowing where to begin or if their posts would be even considered.

Keep the forums like this I'd say, they're absolutely amazing! TF all the way people!

Thanks for your support and enthusiasim sp?. Bah. I do agree the forums need to be kept on the smaller side of things for now. I am going to be introducing a new forum tommorow (as i have a feeling it will attract a wider range of members who will be able to offer a great deal of information and perhaps custom to the freelancers)

Expand the forums when the forums we already have get "crowded".

I agreed!! I know there is a "Programming Forum" already, but you can't really say HTML and CSS are programming. Web Programming is considered to be PHP, ASP, JS, CGI or any side server languages. HTML, XHTML, and XML is consider to be markup language.

Also, I think you should break the forums down to important Categories.

- Talk Freelance
-- TF Announcements
-- Newbies Introduction
-- Questions & Feedback
-- Testing Zone

- The Marketplace
-- Business Section ( I think the entire business section should fall under the marketplace category)
--- Business Discussion
--- Domain Disuccion
--- Articles From The Experts
-- Promotion & Marketing
-- Contest Area

- General Discussion
-- The Lounce
-- Laugh Stupid (forum for funny things because no one said we can't be funny)
-- Flame On (you gotta have a flame forum...its not for flaming at each others..but just to steam off something you hate..like I HATE BRITNEY SPEARS!!!)

- Web Design and Programming
-- Show Off...
-- Markup Languages (basic HTML, XHTML, what the what's not)
-- Web Programmings (PHP, ASP, CGI and the rest..)

Well, that's my 2 cents...

Too many forums...our community I don't belive is big enough to keep it all active. Better to start small and grow in to bigger things.

Old  Start small and grow slowly

Greetings!

A large number of forums can sometimes be a bit confusing for new members. Just a venue for general discussions for a while and when there is a growing common interest you may want to create a subforum or something.

The only way to keep the discussion alive is to keep it as open as possible and keeping it civil.

I think it is but natural that there is not much discussion going on for a while. Just allow members to get to know each other. Encourage discussions that build relationships.

Take care and God bless!
