Software Review

SoThink DHTML Menu Creator

True WYSIWYG

Being able to control everything at the touch of a button, or visually on screen in front of you without having to edit bits and bats of code is pure luxury, especially when it goes right first time. With SoThink DHTML Menu Creator, you need not worry about anything other than a smooth, easy, and addictive process, when it comes to transforming your old, static, interactivity lacking menus, into something so amazing visitors will be forced to make use of it.

Shall We Interface?

Having a WYSIWYG interface attached to it makes SoThink DHTML Menu Creator something so versatile it’s like having bread that butters itself. Everything that you need is in front of you on the ‘design screen’, so you need not have multiple windows open just to get the job done.

Everything from menu transition speeds, to the text on the buttons, to rollovers, links, effects and styles, positioning, and even border, padding and spacing can be edited from within the software. The beauty of the interface ‘design’ is, that it has been designed with your typical Windows XP user in mind. The way it is laid out and designed slightly represents the operating system interface. Another point in favor of the software.

How The Key Fits The Lock

Before taking the plunge and buying the software I had doubts in my mind. Not about creating the menus, but about how to get them from A to B, i.e. from SoThink, to Dreamweaver or into Notepad, to have them functional on my website layouts. I read deeper into it, knowing not much more I make the purchase, design my dropdown, and begin to publish the menu into something workable.

Low and Behold, The software again doesn’t fail to sparkle. By hitting the publish button inside the software you have a choice of 3 paths to walk down. You can either;

• Enter the code via the SoThink software, into the page of your choice

• Copy the code from SoThink and manually place it into the page of your choice

• Create a .js (JavaScript) file capable of being ‘included’ into the page of your choice

On top of these three options, you are presented with an option to copy all of the files used to create the menu, into the directory of your choice to make for easy upload of the menu to your web server.

The Verdict

All I can say is buy it

Price : $35.00 USD (Payable by PayPal or Credit Card)

After reading this review and seeing some of the stuff capable with this software, I felt no other option as a developing webdesigner but to go on and buy it. 35 bucks, and it could improve your design works tenfold.
The payment and download was very quick and easy, had the program within around 10 minutes. Half that for learning time.
This is an amazing product, so easy to pick up and all done visually. Anyone looking for something like this for only $35 I wouldn't really recommened much else.

looks very nice... only thing is, if too many people buy the program and have menu bars like this, then you would want a new menu rather than having the same one as everyone else

That's the beauty of it Mr Cheeky, you can make menus look however you want them to look. Use images, text, whatever

You're completely flexible!
