 VB Skinning
I'm ramping up a project this week, and the tail end of it will require skinning in a VB forum to match the rest of the site.
I've never skinned VB completely before. Are there any good books on the subject? The VB manual is a tad dry for me to learn from.

There isn't really a 'definitive guide', hence the lack of vB coders. The best resource; in my opinion anyway; is the vBulletin documentation -- but as you've already said, it is rather 'dry'.

Go by the vb documentation even if it is dry, however trial and error is the best learning technique. But once accomplished, you'll always know the "core" of it all. If that makes sense.

The best way is to analyze the code of an existing skin. After a couple hours of playing with the vB templates, you'll realize that coding a vB skin is like coding any other web design. You might also want to keep in mind that vBulletin is coded with tables (xhtml 1.0 transitional).

That's one of the reasons why im starting a site where I will sell videos tutorials on how to code applications and how to code in general.
That will be up sooner or later. Sorry..

Tables ! Na, figures... There are only a few forums that don't output tables, and those are OpenSource.
