Old  Hosting and design or one or the other?

Hi. I own www.plexs.net and I am re-designing my website but I have noticed that there are not many websites around that sell both hosting and design from the same place. Is it better to have to seperate websites, a portfolio and hosting site or should I keep my site as one? What sites do you know that sell both and are successfull?

Thanks.
Dale.

I think it's best to keep those services seperated, not necessarily those 2. But I think a hosting company should have a seperate website to concentrate the content in a more efficient way. You'll avoid confusion and it shows more professionality.

You can post your design in the Works in Progress forum to get constructive feedback.

I agree with Aros on this one, tieing the two together in the same entity could be trouble - There are even companies out there that sell shared, reseller and dedicated services and each have seperate company names.

It's just a way to keep things organised.

Its a tuffy, however it really depends on your target market in my opinion. My target market is small-medium local businesses and i am helping them take their first steps on to the web so for me with my business i have combined the two to provide a service which fits my potential clients needs.

Great point you make anjam. Something that not many people take into consideration is their target market
