VividWire is on a distinguished road

  Old  A little help please...

I have been working on my design for my new website for a while now, a couple of weeks ago I asked for comments and suggestions in the gallery. I thought all was going well with the web-design until last night when I noticed site5 had improved their design.

Links:
My design
Site5

I think the header in the new site5 design looks similar to mine so I got a bit frustrated. Im not saying Site5 ripped my design because I know they didnt, Im just asking what people think I should do, start a new design fom scratch or carry on using this one anyway?

The reason I was thinking about starting from scratch is because Site5 is a big company and if I am just starting out in the hosting industry I do not really want a design which looks similar to some other larger companies website, would do noting good for me at all. But I do like the design I came up with and Im not sure if its worth taking a chance having a similar looking website??

So, what do you guys think?

Well, I would make a new design, because people will think you ripped it and not them. And of course going to court is uselless.

At the end of the day, you will always be the one accused of ripping because Site5.com is a bigger site then yours, I know it sounds stupid and it is a stupid method and to be honest, you might as well start again for the hassle it is worth.

if your site wasnt a hosting site or site5 wasnt then i would have said use it but since their both going to be hosting your probably better off making a new design. it's a very nice design tho i almost like urs better if there was alittle bit more color in it.

I don't see the similarities at all. Unless you mean you have a dark header? If that's it then you don't have a problem.

Are u kidding me? If that's the case then alot of sites should change design because there's some similarity. A dark header that runs across the page is hardly enough to consider a rip. Your navigation isn't in yet so you can deviate with that.

I don't see similarity, I don't see it as a rip but for safety, you should start over.

Besides, Site5 seems to be changing site design like clothing. I really don't know what's up with that. Only goes to show that they're a young company.

Their new sites looks a lot like Firewheel's old site... So if anyone did 'rip' the design it would be them.

Yours is so disimilar it barely matters that both designs share a dark gray header.

I don't think you design looks anything like site5's to be honest.

I'm with Julian.
