Promoting a new forum
Hey all,
Im looking for different promotion techniques for my new forum: vBDiscussion.com
At the moment I have only promoted it on a few forums. Im open to suggestions

Even though it may sound stupid, you could always create a few little tutorials in the Design Discussion forum on the bottom and submit them to sites like Good-tutorials.com, Pixel2life.com, etc... and get over thousands of hits instantly. Or you could just purchase small text links & banner ads on popular sites :P. Hope this helps

You need to populate it more before advertising IMO.
Very few people would join a near-empty forum.

not really, it takes members, not posts. I was at a board with almost 1000 posts, but 10 members, the 1000 posts didnt help them

That's not a bad idea! My tutorial system for vBD is opening this week and so it will come with a few tutorials from myself anyways! Thanks
And I agree with c_programmer - the key to a forum is not only the amount of posts it has but the amount of members contributing.

Also, you can submit your website to top site systems. They may sound cheesy, but they are free and they do help a bit.
