  Old  Software/Web Application Development Contact

Hello,
I have not been in the freelance business long and I am already having the "We never agreed on that" customers. I am looking for a nice FREE contract which i can use so before I start anything I can get everything down on paper.

Is anybody prepeared to share there contract so I can take a look at?

P.S. Signing contracts when your an internet freelancer is not easy or instant is there anyway I can make the contract stand up legally without a signature? You know like the websites where they have checkboxes saying "I accept, and understand the agreement"?

Hi,

This is a good contract template thanks but I was looking more of an software application. So all the stuff mentioned in the contract is not really relevant as I am not a web designer and my hosting packages already have a contract.

Thanks,
Rob

I don't have a software contract, but I can help you with your second question about signing contracts.

All I do if the clients want the process sped up, is put a digital signature I hand wrote via tablet/Illustrator into the document in the appropriate places. I then protect the document so it can't be edited. Then I email the contract to clients. They have the choice of faxing it back to me, or printing it and sending me a copy. It's normally 2 days max until I receive contracts, even faster via fax.

Hi,

Thats a very good way. How do you mean "protect the document". How do I do that?

In Word you can protect documents, so only you can edit/change them.

To do this click Tools/Protect Document, then highlight the Forms checkbox, put in a password, click OK. It will ask you to re-input the password.

Then no-one else can edit the document, other than you!

PS. Make sure you write the password down somwhere, so you don't lose it )
