Hi friend ,

Congratulations on learning a new language.you say you have learned php and that you are putting every thing togather.Well the next logical steps should be mastering AJAX,Objected oriented programming,CMS(JOOMLA/Drupal).
After this you can learn what i call management part, interacting with the client ,putting requirements formally and preparing the software designs.
After this you can graduate towards acquiring project management skills,i mean managing the entire project.

Try learning JavaScript, would be really neat to use it in a combo with xHTML, CSS and php.

I agree with vivaan. I would go for AJAX.

And will try to learn more about Project management and CRM and other things that are expected from a good provider.

Ajax isn't a language. I guess you would be thinking of javascript.

If you have mastered PHP and mysql then i would suggest your to go for designing section.
Its really required to handle a project. After completing it you can go for any other scripting language.

I think designing should be better left to designers, since designing it self is a highly specialized field which needs to be pursued by people who are artists. As a programmer one's priority should be to become well versed in the language one is working.Although one should be well versed with html but learning to design is certainly not advisable.
So this idea of taking up designing is foolish and laughable.

Well that all depends where your sights are set. If you're want to stick with web development I suggest learning to work with some sort of content management system (Drupal, Wordpress, etc.) Many of them are coded in php with some Javascript sprinkled in here or there, so you don't necessarily have to "stop" learning php, learn to use it in some other way and add another skillset under your belt.

Or you could look at Java or C# for platform development, they're pretty much one and the same thing only that C# locks you in with Microsoft, so Java imo is the better option to go with.

There's also always C and C++ if you feel like getting down and dirty with the hardware itself, so it depends. Ask yourself what you want to do and go from there, that way you'll get much more solid advice from people.
