Village Genius will become famous soon enough

Old  10 quality posts or no posts at all

The posts newbies are making to get into the marketplace (then leave) are getting worse and worse. We should either require they be quality (not spammy) or just remove the limit.

Or up the limit to 50 moderated quality posts. But that would mean the staff actually have to do something. So I doubt it would happen.

Agreed. They should be of decent quality.

Well spank my arse and call me michael flatley.

What work do they do exactly? I'm genuinely curious.

Well, in recent weeks I fixed almost all the skin bugs and I am in the process of fixing some now. Happy?

I also make suggestions that may push the site forward, not make up crap on how the site will never grow.

If the coder that was hired in the first place had done his job properly no skin bugs would have needed to be fixed.

Also making suggestions isn't anything fancy shmancy, anybody can come up with some suggestions on how to push the site forward, it's carrying them out that's lacking.

Oh well

Quite right. I would have thought TF, in all its wisdom, would have chosen a vB coder that was fully capable of taking it from start to finish without any bugs by the time the users had to see it. The fact that there are still bugs in it after this much time, makes a person think.

True, I've seen some great ideas pop up over the last 2yrs i've been here. Yes, im not an active member, but over the years I've watched the forum, and although its been through two themes now, there hasn't been that much of a change, yes stuff moves around, owners selling and new ones buying, but nothing that i could call a DRAMATIC change for the benefit of all members. Maybe its about time that the staff took in more of the ideas that users have, and start implementing some good ones.

Thats Aros' fault, not the staff.

Anthony asked what the staff does, not what you do (you're not staff, right?). I'm all for moderating the first 10 posts or so but with the current crop of staff members I doubt that'd be an option. Plus which new member really wants to sit and wait to accumulate 10 moderated posts -- here to spam or otherwise?

I know that I've registered at a few forums (usually to answer a question posed there) which have been moderated -- I quickly leave.
