When cPanel removes the "experimental" notice next to PHP5 in the apache upgrade tool, you'll notice a pretty fast migration to 5 over 4 I believe.

I have worked with PHP5 a lot but I mostly develop for PHP4 since that is what msot web servers use.

I can't wait to start using PHP5 commercially though. Most of my work is OOP based so it would make things much easier for me.

Agreed 100%. Once PHP5 is commercial its going to be awesome. I code in OOP as well so I cannot wait either!

4.1.30 is my favorite. php5 is not what you want to use yet, since a lot of the functions are renamed. Currently, you need to use mysqli* to do mysql functions, very annoying. I would suggest waiting until php5 is popular before using it.

dmsuperman, i hope you mean 4.3.10 (or 4.3.11 released march 31).

i run 5.0.3 (ya i need to update) at home but my host uses 4.3.11.

I really do like the new OO features that it has. also, dmsuperman, it is easier to use a MySQL class (PEAR:B, MYSQLLIB, etc). I haven't experimented with the XML features yet, but maybe i will.

php 4 still seems the way to go.. Most host's don't offer the php5 option yet.

Sadly, I still use 4.3.10. I want to use PHP5 really badly, but my host hasn't swicthed yet. Or even upgraded to 4.3.11.
