  Old  Affect Search Engine Rank?

Hey everyone, hopefully this is posted in the correct forum.

I was wondering, for my new site I am devloping, would it affect my search engine rankings if I used a picture heading which says say "Welcome to blah blah" rather then an H1 tag saying "Welcome to Blah Blah". Is there a way to give my image the same affect as the h1 tag by putting it in css some how sort of how you can do it with flash text?

Thanks guys!

Wouldn't you use the alt tag? I think I misunderstood your post.

Yes, you would use the alt tag on the image

Should be using the Alt Tag on every image anyway

Yes, I know that but can you make it basically have the same properties of the h1 tab, i hear that it is better for search engines finding the title of the main titles and stuff.

Could always put the <H1> with the Title in an Invisible <Div>. But generally as long as you have a <Title> in the <Head> you should do fine for Search Engines.
