  Old  Best place to advertise?

Hoping some of the guru's here can give me a helping hand, I have just recently put my recipe site online not just any old recipe site. This site specializes in top secret recipes only

Anyway I thought why not sign up to some good food forums with 1000+ members, so I loaded up Google but I am struggling to find any large forums about food or recipes. So if you guys and girls know any please let me know.
(The idea of this is to use my sites url in my forum sig)

Also what sites do you recommend I buy banner space & text links on? Because I don’t think webmaster sites would be a good idea.

Food is a very general market, so whereever you advertise you're staring at your target audience (everyone loves food) ideally I would advertise on sites that cater specifically to your niche audience though such as food websites.

Have you looked on www.big-boards.com? This site lists the largest forums online, there might be one related to your speciality.

http://www.epicurious.com/ (number 1 for "food recipes" in google) cheap advertising on that site!

http://foodnetwork.com (number 1 for "food" in google) advertising available on their site as well.

Also, try google adwords and link exchanges!

Ah, that sucks! Have you tried www.overture.com? It's a similar service.
