u should hav basic concept of oops(object oriented programming),should have visual studio2.0,SQL Server 2005 n IIS as the server....inorder to learn the basic u should not take more than 1mnth n i would suggest u to read WROX for .net developer.Since i use ASP.NET C# so i suggest u dat which is more popular than the other one...
Yes the requirements given by the last post are enough.Its your choice whether you would want to use VB or C#,there is no difference in performance or any other parameter.if you know VB 6.0 then VB.Net is the natural progression
for you but if you were working in java earlier then C# is the way to go.
For beginers i think there is not better book than step by step series by microsoft press,it adopts a practical and easy approach.even i learned
asp.net,sql server and ms access using the step by step series.
I recommend a book called "Asp.Net for Web Designers" by Peter Ladka. It is an older book, using .Net 1.2, however, it is a great book for beginners, as it walks you through step by step, with easy to follow tutorials from cover to cover. I used this book to get started, and I have been developing entire .Net sites for about 5 years now.
It's a good thing that you are going to learn ASP.NET. so,before start learning you have to learn OOP's concept. later it there are different kind of free learning material available on internet for asp.net like w3schools.
The software requirements are visual stdio 2008 ,IIS server. you will have to install them in your PC.
