Old  Whats best? VB or phpbb3 (for modifications)

Hi

What’s best out of VB or php bb3 (or other forums) in terms of getting Modifications made. Is there a difference at all or is the programming basically the same for both?

Also, what about security and also getting support, is VB, being a company likely to be better?

Many of the biggest forums I notice are VB, why is that?

BTW, I notice that there are many MODs freely available for php bb3 (or SMF), is that not the case with VB at all?

All help is appreciated.

Hi, I appreciate the lead. I've been there and registered and maybe I've overlooked something obvious but I really do not see anyway of hiring coders there. I see a listing of MODs (very useful) by version number. Is there some type of marketplace associated with vbulletin.org or do all transactions commence offsite? Or, do I have to be licensed in order to even see certain forums. What really is the best way of obtaining a coder with VB experience? Thanks again for any help.

I think it may only be viewable by licensed members, but there's a forum over there called "Request Paid Services":

I'd go with Vbulletin.
