  Old  Visual Basic Freeware?

hey guys i'll put this here as its more general computing rather than website related.

Im doing as-computing, which requires us to use microsoft visual basic.

Right now i cant afford it, and i need to do some coding for my projects :S

Does anyone know any free alternatives? I am relying on you guys

(p.s. yes i have done a google search...:S)

You can use Microsoft’s Visual Basic Express. It's easy to use and therefore great to learn with. Best of all it's FREE!

Here's the link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vb/

If you need any help with Visual Basic feel free to ask me .

VB6 which is most commonly used on AS/A2 Computing, as i am doing A2 Computing at present. You probs wont be able to use Microsoft’s Visual Basic Express as its under the .net framework which is totally differnet from vb6.
Sorry to say unless you can find VB6 on ebay you may have to resort into getting a new version and then using the privledge from microsoft to use a copied version (i.e. alowed to use the downgrader rights) I use the Microsoft’s Visual Basic Express 2005 and VB6. I only use VB6 for my college work and Microsoft’s Visual Basic Express 2005 for actual projects for people.
I must advise you to keep to the same as your college/6th form uses as you can transport it from one to another.

Any questions then feel free to PM me,
Regards,
Ryan

EDIT: I am also doing a VB6 tutorial for a file handling system on gamerenders.com/forum, so you might be interested in that if you wish to learn abit more that will help you in your course.

I've never had a machine come with Visual Basic 'out-of-the-box'. Who did you buy your computers from?

Um.... no. They might have the Visual Basic Runtime files and perhaps even the the .Net Framework preinstalled (in the case of XP) but most certainly not the Visual Basic development application. If you're buying your computers from somebody that is pre-installing Visual Basic then send their name to Microsoft... they would be interested in finding out more.
