  Old  Knowledge base Thing

I've started a job and I need to be able to take a lot of notes and keep them organised.

I've thought use of MS Compiled Help Files (CHM) but most of the software to make them is cumbersome, and I've thought of a wiki, but thats quite difficult to setup on a server I will always have access too.

Maybe I could run a PHP and MySQL server off my USB stick! Is that possible, or good for the health of it?

Anything you could suggest?
