Double post merging!
Well; just a quick suggestion for TFL.
On other sites which I used previously they had a system in place to stop people double posting. All it did was when you posted subsequent to one of your own replies, it merged the two posts together.
I think we should apply that system on these forums, simply to stop bumping, and then we should introduce a 'bump topic' feature with a timer.
Just a thought!

I mean in the sort of situation when you're replying to several people at once, and you want to quote them, you have to keep going back, and copying the quote. If you did it like this, they'd just automatically merge into one reply.

First off, it's a useful idea and one that should be implemented. Maybe it's just my inattentiveness but I don't really see double posts as being much of an issue here, but it's a simple enough solution to put into place anyway.

If you want to quote several posts at once, we have the Multi-Quote feature (the double quotes next to the normal quote button in the 'new' skin) which enables you to flag multiple posts that you want to quote in your response (does not work with quick reply).

I agree with the double post feature, would be useful around here.

They do this at NamePros - can be annoying when you're trying to bump your own sales threads
I agree with the suggestion. However, maybe make it so that the post only merges if it was within xx (72?) hours of the previous reply which is certainly possible. Just an idea.

Yeah good idea, IPB has this feature built in if it's within a few hours of the last reply.. Maybe vB has it hidden somewhere, or at least im sure there will be something at vb.org anyhoo
But yeah, don't bloody double post until I can get it done :P

What about the "able to delete your own post" feature?

Yep
All good ideas, and I think what this place lacks is the community being in control a little. In terms of permissions, having this feature would be good, and to be able to open/close your own thread too.
