Using Windows Disk For 2 of my computers.

Well, I just built my new computer, installed my windows disk and all works great. Now it wants an activation key within 30 days. I inserted that, and it says my key is invalid. Is this because I have this license running on my laptop?

EDIT: I can get another copy of windows from my dads work, but does that mean I have to reinstall EVERYTHING again

One activation code = One computer

You can't use one code on two computers

If you get another code you shouldnt have to reinstall, just enter the new code

If this is for XP then alternatively you could always not install the Windows Genuine Advantage update, better yet use Linux

Unfortunatly, upon install of Windows XP you must enter the auth key. If you wish to your able to enter it at a later date (Max is 30 days). After the 30 days are up, you are unable to continue to use XP until you enter a correct key

This is where illegal school versions help, like mine :P Its a school version so didnt ask for my activation code (dunno why?) and not its says its illegal after the genuine patch but still lets me have all the updates etc.
