ok, I have a cpanel but it doesnt have awstats and I need it.

Is it possible for me to install awstats on my individual server? or do I have to contact the host and have him do it?

You need to contact the host to have it installed afaik.

Why not use a different stats tracking program like Google Analytics, or Mint?

You will have to contact your host. I personally prefer Awstats because you don't need to copy a piece of code onto every page you want to track and its free!

Almost all cPanel hosts have it, they just have to go into their WHM settings and enable AWStats.

Awstats is standard with cPanel. Ask your host to enable it.

WHM -> Server Configuration -> Tweak Settings -> Stats Programs -> Awstats Stats -> Save

Awstats will be available in about 24 hours.
