Old  client details offline or online

Hi,

I am developing a database to store my project info and client info. I am not sure where to store it though. It is an online application using a database.

Do you reccomend me sstoring it online on my own company domain such as mycompany.com/clients and have it password protected, or should i store it offline under apache/localhost?

I am mainly worried about security and search engines picking up the content.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can easily tell the search engine to skip this web page (<meta name="robots" content="noindex" />) + a small change in robots.txt I think. Make it offline if you are the only one to see it, why would you expose your database to hackers? If you absolutely want it Online, I suggest you to hire a security guru if you don't know anything in security.

You can also try paper, it's the most secure way to store data . Anyway, good luck sir.

Definetly use the Robot/Crawler thing. I would personally put it online so I could access it anywhere. Definetly put it under password protection though.
