  Old  Ethernet (Cat5e) Cable

Does anyone know how to take the end off an ethernet cable and put it back on correctly? I will be running the cable through a wall, but I only want to drill a hole the same diameter as the wire. However, the end of the cable obviously won't fit through the hole...any ideas?

I don't fancy splicing if poss.

Might explain what you're looking for, specifically the second answer.

Well that is splicing essentially, but I just gave up with the hole and ran the wire another route. Thanks anyway.

Glad you found another way. And no, if you read step 5, it's inserting it into the connector, however you would have needed a crimping tool.
