There is no "best" camera. You'll have to be more specific. What kind of photography do you do? Are you a professional photographer or do you just want a camera to snap at parties etc? If pro (though I assume not, as you wouldn't be asking a forum of web developers for photography advice), what kind of thing(s) do you shoot?

I am using Yaskhika since 1995. Its results are still best.

I'd go with the EOS 5D Mark II if your budget is large enough, maybe buy a nice lens too

I'm a big fan of the Canon 40/50D for the price/performance ratio. At least, for higher end performance.

For actual price/performance any cheap P&S will destroy anything else. A 40D with a nice lens should ru n you about $1200 right now though.
