Just because they are Google does not mean they will have quality support. I have sent multiple emails to them about their listings and all I have managed to get from them was an automated response saying they don't have time to answer my query right now. Even those emails took at least a week to get to me. It might be a good quality service at first but eventually they will fall into the category of webhosts that have a massive customer base and very poor support. I've had nothing but great experiences with ServInt and I don't plan on switching anytime soon.

Google being a web host...maybe they'll give it out for free for a while...a promotion like 1 and 1 did.

If google became a host theyd be the next microsoft in for the cash. I would hate them then as they obviously would be at the top of the results!

Well if they never advertised like that then it wouldn't bother me, its just if they used free adwords and search listings at the top which would bother me. Although they own it so they can but it wouldn't be nice. I don't see them ever doing paid services though I see them all free type services for public and paid for advertisers.

I think it's a bad move... the more they make the more indepent companies / people dislike them for taking over what they had... they will soon be known as a dicatorship and less people will like them in a way. (just a theory).

It would probably be cheap when they offer webhosting. Their CPUs would probably increase to thousands if not millions!

Their webhosting services would probably be the most reliable in the world! If they ever plan to become a webhost, they would certainly make alot of money

I think google (what with its huge public presence) would probably be swamed with customers and ultimatly end up providing a second rate service in terms of support and reliability.

What do you think?
